Rita Vindedzis is an established contemporary artist creating original fine art paintings. She has been painting professionally for two decades. A versatile artist, Rita does not limit her creativity to one style and moves from one dynamic series of paintings to the next. Her work has been exhibited in a long list of solo, group shows and art fairs including Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Artist Project Toronto, One of a Kind Show, Toronto Art Expo, and Art Expo New York.

There are just a few days left in the month of August and I am taking full advantage of them. I will be back to regular posting in September. Until then, I will probably be posting in my stories but who knows where the mood will take me. I`m back in my free spirit era.

Back from a week`s vacay and I`m a bit overwhelmed. I always come back home inspired but this trip was inspiration overland! I wanted to make art so badly today but all my ideas and visions for what`s to come were all jumbled up and I had to get them all out onto paper. Spent much of the day getting caught up with emails and planning, and made a big old school to-do list.
Happy that I spent about 20 minutes color swatching my new Faber-Castell Gelatos that I picked up while in NYC. I love the feel of these water soluble color sticks. It`s almost like drawing with lipstick. Can`t wait to try them on some mixed media work.

Friday photo dump. Enjoyed some time away. First stop, a weekend in NYC. We had just 2 days in the big apple this time, and a lot on our list of things we wanted to see and do. Here are just a few photos.
-See the building from"Only Murders in the Building". Beautiful architecture. Unfortunately security wouldn`t let us into the gorgeous courtyard to take photos.
-Zabars
-Visit a Dick Blick store and stock up on art supplies
-the Met
-Ride the tram to Roosevelt Island
-visit a few art galleries
It was extremely hot and muggy so we decided not to cross the Brooklyn bridge on foot.
Unplanned highlights were waiting out the rain inside the original Macy`s store and finding some hidden gems like the vintage wooden escalators and the entrance to the executive offices. Made me think of the original "Miracle on 34th Street"
Also getting caught in a torrential downpour on 6th Avenue, taking shelter in a doorway and people watching.
The second part of vacation was some time on Lake George visiting family. This was the calm and relaxing part. Lots of swimming and forest bathing. Time with family we only see once a year. Lots of cooking and great food. That`s a wrap until next year.
Happy Friday! I`ll be working on this one for awhile. When a canvas is 4ft x 6ft there`s a lot of area to cover. Enjoying the journey.

Missing Nami today. She was our sweet kitty that passed away a couple of years ago now. When she was very tiny, I held her close in one hand while I painted. We had a special connection. All the heavy rain and thunder we`re having today reminded me how she would hide during storms. She was so afraid of thunder.
