‘Rainy King West’ 12×12 acrylic on canvas sold
I have not been a good blogger. It’s been ages since my last blogpost. Actually, I’ve sat down to write many times over the past few months and then hit delete, never satisfied with the words on the page. It’s been a crazy busy summer into fall. Endings, new beginnings. a wedding, travel, health scares. Change.
-After 37 years in their home, my parents have sold the house and moved to a retirement community. They settled in nicely and my sister and I took on the task of clearing out the house and helping my father with his last art show and sale in the home that was his studio for so many years.
-The creative progress meetings with Lynn are continuing and fabulous. I’m so glad we started having them at the beginning of the year. They are not just bottomless cups of coffee and catching up with personal stuff, they are keeping each other accountable, exchanging ideas and news from the art world, and so very inspiring. Definitely keeping me on track with my goals and intentions career wise. I’ll let you in on a secret…I’ve applied to one of the largest contemporary art fairs in the city. Kind of nerve wracking as I have to go through the jurying process and am waiting to hear of my acceptance. Notifications are supposed to be out soon. keeping positive thoughts!!
-I’ve heard that it happens but I finally sold some work thanks to my Instagram. I posted the images of two paintings on a Friday morning. I was delivering them to Art Interiors Gallery at the end of the day. Getting likes and comments right away is so satisfying. Instant gratification. So I was really surprised and thrilled that by the time I had delivered the works to the gallery they had sold. Yay!!!
‘City Beat’ 12×12 acrylic on canvas sold
-These days I’m spending a lot of time in the studio painting to get some new work out to my galleries. This is always a busy time especially for ’small works’ with the holiday season fast approaching. I’ll be having some sort of studio sale happening at some point but I just haven’t figured out all the details yet. I’m also working on getting my online shop up and open for business soon. In the meantime studio visits can be arranged. Drop me an email.
